The breakthrough artist joins forces with bonafide legend & personal musical inspiration ahead of headline UK tour
After establishing himself as a breakthrough artist with over 1 billion global streams and chart-topping records across five countries, ex-Love Island cast member and singer-songwriter, Wes Nelson, returns with a garage banger featuring the legendary RnB vocalist and UKG pioneer Craig David.
Out on 2nd February, ‘Abracadabra‘ serves as the ultimate winter warmer, bringing summer vibes even in the coldest of times, with Wes and Craig duelling over a cool RnB-flavoured garage groove. The track came about some months back when Wes met with Craig, who also happens to be one of Wes’ musical inspirations, in the studio where ‘Abracadabra’ was born.
“Craig asked me to support him at one of his shows in the summer in Ibiza.” Wes says.. “Craig has been a big inspiration to me since I was a kid, so when the opportunity arose to jump into the studio together it was a no brainer!”
“In the past, there have been some comparisons between the two of us as singers, we’re on a similar sort of wave and clearly it’s a collaboration that people wanted. We made the whole song start to finish in the studio – it felt really natural and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.” ‘Abracadabra’ drops ahead of Wes’ European headline tour in May, which will include stops in Nottingham, Birmingham, Glasgow, Cardiff and Manchester.
Throughout the last couple of years, Wes’ career has continued going from strength-to-strength, as evidenced by his highly successful UK tour, which saw him sell out headline shows across the nation. Wes also joined N-Dubz, acting as main support for their return tour, where hegraced some of the UK’s most prestigious venues, including sold-out shows at The O2 London and Birmingham’s Utilita Arena before joining them at various outdoor festivals across the summer.
Not stopping there, he’s taken his electrifying performances abroad with memorable shows in Ibiza, Greece, Switzerland, Malta, Dubai and more upcoming performances planned in central Europe.
Beyond his music career, Wes Nelson boasts a diverse range of talents, including being a TV star, former undefeated champion Muay Thai kickboxer, semi-professional footballer, and Nuclear System Design Engineer. However, his enduring love for music has seen him rise to prominence in the industry. Through this, his distinctive style has earned him the respect and admiration of fellow artists.
