“Waiting For Smith is the British singer-songwriter you were waiting for” – GQ Magazine
Rising British singer-songwriter Waiting For Smith is poised to revolutionise the music landscape with the release of his highly anticipated debut album, Raised Up. This follows the release of the title track, which has amassed over 500k streams across all DSPs.
Traversing themes of vibrational joy, self-worth, positivity, and letting go, Waiting For Smith challenges conventional notions that music should focus on negativity, superficial success, and strict genre boundaries. Instead, he offers uplifting, introspective, and genre-blending compositions. This 10-track body of work seamlessly blends elements of acoustic folk, pop sensibilities, soulful vocals, soothing piano lines, and ambient soundscapes, reflecting Waiting For Smith’s uninhibited creativity and the absolute “warm bath that you can step into after a long day of stress,” as he explains.
The project opens with the fan-favourite track, “Let Light In,” which centres on love and illumination, setting a hopeful tone for the journey ahead. Each subsequent track unfolds like a chapter in a profound narrative, offering a diverse array of musical experiences to explore. “Feel Ya Flow“ emerges as a spirited anthem, urging listeners to awaken their senses and embrace life’s boundless possibilities. Its infectious rhythms and uplifting vocals inspire a sense of vitality and renewal, making it an instant standout in the collection. As the album progresses, tracks like “Small Things” and “White Light of Love” provide moments of introspection and solace, offering a comforting embrace in times of uncertainty. These songs serve as gentle reminders to cherish life’s simple pleasures and to find solace in moments of stillness. However, it’s the track “No Sign” that truly shines as a beacon of hope and resilience. With its soaring melodies and empowering lyrics, it encourages listeners to embrace their unique gifts and to forge their own path with confidence and conviction.
“I feel this LP can help reduce your anxiety and feelings of unworthiness, and I really want it to increase your happiness, increase your feelings of positivity, and raise you up to a state of vibrational joy – like it has for me,” says Waiting For Smith. “As someone who has experienced a lot of pain – both mentally and physically, from breaking my back to overcoming severe mental health struggles and dying for 5 minutes only to come out the other side to feel joy most days – I want to share this message of joy that I’ve found with others: my family, friends, my love, my listeners, and really anyone I meet.”
Fresh off recently completed support tours with James Mcvey and Benedict Cork, captivating audiences across the UK and Europe, Waiting For Smith is set to headline at Paris’ Les Etoiles on June 11th and London’s Courtyard Theatre on June 13th, continuing to build his growing fan base. During his support tour, he released and quickly sold out of a pre-release vinyl edition of the album, showcasing the high demand and enthusiasm for his music.
With over 4.8 million Spotify streams, 739K YouTube views, 125K Shazams, and a growing Facebook following of over 25K, backed by accolades from Huw Stephens on Radio 1, as well as Dermot O’Leary, Jo Whiley, and Tom Robinson, and support from Flux FM in Germany, Radio One in India, British GQ, Rolling Stone India, MTV Germany, Clash Magazine, Earmilk, Notion, Wonderland, 1883 Magazine, JKF Magazine, and many more, Waiting For Smith continues to solidify himself as a promising force in Indie Folk/Pop.
