“I think most of us know that feeling of getting drunk and reaching that point of no return, where the lid just flips and the valves open, and you become an over-sharing, over-emotional, ugly-crying fool, sitting there on the bar bathroom floor asking your friends to hold your hair, do we not? Well, if you do, this might be the messy-girl anthem for you. Sometimes all you need to do is cry until the whole damn place is stuck under water,” Theresa Rex tells.
Driven forward by the acoustic guitar, ‘Ugly Cry‘ is a simple, upbeat production with few musical elements while a clever chord progression makes the track impactful and utterly catchy. The track is recorded along with the talented producer-prodigy, Jacob Buchardt.

Many may not know the name Theresa Rex, but the Danish singer has a voice recognized by many. Having never dreamt of being a pop artist, Theresa Rex got discovered while singing jazz on the local town square. Since then she has delivered vocals for a string of global hits and is now beginning to make waves in her solo career. From an early age Theresa fell in love with music and has since used it as tool to find comfort and confidence. It was artists like Gladys Knight, Janis Joplin and Debbie Harry from Blondie, who caught Theresas attention and inspired her to start a musical journey, that included stints in indie groups, girl-metal bands and gypsy jazz constellations. One day, while jamming gypsy jazz at the local town square, Theresa’s voice caught the attention of a passing songwriter and producer, who fell for Theresa expressive voice and pure talent. A few months later she was offered to sing on Martin Jensen’s ‘Solo Dance’. The song went on to be a global hit, and many has since been intrigued by who was behind the amazing voice. Ready to step out of the shadows and ignite her career as a solo artist, Theresa released her debut single ‘Wild Ones’ in 2018. In March 2019 UK star Jonas Blue invited her to sing on his song ‘What I Like About You’. A song still climbing the charts and making waves worldwide.
