As we gear up for the release of Linn Koch-Emmery’s forthcoming album, ‘Borderline Iconic’, landing in May, the Swedish sensation continues to set the bar high with her latest feel-good anthem, “No Hands”. Following on from the March release “Happy” which accumulated an abundance of accolades online, “No Hands”, emphasises Linn Koch Emmery’s reputable dynamic sound that is capturing the hearts of many worldwide.
Staying true to her fusion of abrasive guitar backdrops and hypnotic hooks, “No Hands” is a head-bopping anthem representing the chaos that comes with living in the fast lane. Whether you’re caught up in your 9-5 job or living life on the edge, “No Hands” is a moment of release amidst the mayhem. Paired with spiralling choruses that sit seamlessly against the acoustic-heavy production, Linn Koch-Emmery navigates us with her husky tone and captivating lyricism.
Speaking on the meaning behind the single, Linn Koch-Emmery commented, “No Hands is about living, loving and losing in the fast lane. Imagine this being what corporate people dream of when they get their $5 flat white in the morning.”
Following Linn Koch-Emmery’s headline show at The Social in London in March where an unforgettable performance was held, the sensation has since been featured in Rolling Stone UK’s March issue who recognised her unrivalled lyrical work. In addition, the songstress has also received accolades from Atwood Magazine, Wonderland, Notion, Rolling Stone UK and more. Gearing up for the release of the album, ‘Borderline Iconic’ which is set to land in May, there will be a limited release of stunning vinyl’s made available for purchase alongside the release.
Born in Hamburg, Germany, and raised in Norrköping, Sweden, Linn Koch-Emmery’s childhood and teenage years consisted of listening to music as a form of escape. With a tendency to feel anxious when she was younger, music became a haven of peace that in turn propelled her love for the art. When the dream of one day being in a band alongside her twin sister and friends swiftly came to a halt, Emmery’s journey of becoming a solo artist came to light. Making her debut appearance in 2018 with an EP named ‘Waves’, the multi-talented artist went on to release her debut album ‘Being the Girl’ in 2021 which was nominated for a Swedish Grammy. The rest is history. Now having supported the likes of Liam Gallagher and Los Bitchos on tour, as well as performing around the world and in festivals including Roskilde, Bestival, Way Out West, and Sommer Am See, it’s clear that Linn Koch-Emmery’s determination and captivating sound will land her as a house-hold name in years to come.
