The London-based sample nerd & renowned remixer releases two standout singles
A true wizard at sampling, London-based artist, producer, and ADONIS regular GIVE LOVE has releases two standout singles, ‘French Touch’ and ‘Another Song,’ dropping this Thursday, April 10th, via Some Pulp Recordings.
‘French Touch’ leans into groove and nostalgia, built around a sample of the disco track ‘Naughty Times’ by Cutty. It’s warm, direct and punchy, but layered with tiny vocal fragments and loops that twist and evolve. You can hear the love in the details – a nod to classic house and early filter disco, but still unmistakably GIVE LOVE.
‘Another Song’ flips the mood entirely, offering a delicate and introspective feel centred around a vocal snippet that says very little but somehow says everything. One of the first tracks written for the album, it quickly became an emotional centrepiece for GIVE LOVE, growing from a small, overlooked moment into something much larger.
“There are 50+ samples in this track alone—pulling from songs, films, YouTube clips, Instagram reels, and podcasts. It really has a little piece of everything,” says GIVE LOVE. One of the last additions was the “I wanna be … a funky DJ MC” sample, taken from a rare 1987 Hip Hop track by DJ MC’s, who recorded only one other track under a different name.
Whether pulling from soul, disco, pop, or even a music teacher’s home recording, GIVE LOVE is on a mission to show some love to forgotten classics through expert sampling. There’s no smoke and mirrors here—just a deep respect for the source and a knack for turning overlooked sounds into something that hits right now.
GIVE LOVE is the alias of former illusionist and London-born DJ / Producer Simon K, who has spent the last five years producing dancefloor-filling remixes and bootlegs, honing his sound and racking up hundreds of thousands of plays (his Kylie Minogue edit has just been released on Jaguar’s Utopia label). He’s also gained invaluable experience as a DJ and dedicated music enthusiast playing warehouse raves in Tottenham, basements in Berlin, celebrated cult-queer London party Adonis and the legendary Grand Trianon theatre in Paris.
Check out the singles ‘French Touch’ and ‘Another Song’ and keep your ears peeled for more releases this year.
