with over 7 million streams and two UK Club hit singles
“Samira has always been destined to stand alongside the big pop girlies” – Official Charts
“We’ve been obsessed with her new music” – MTV UK
“Introducing Britain’s new rising popstar” – Spindle
The UK’s hottest pop newcomer, Samira has released her wistful new summer banger ‘Envy Me’. The spicy track is about being in a better place after a break-up and knowing your ex wishes they could say the same.
Co-written by Samira with Danish pop prince Daniel Schulz, ‘Envy Me’ hears her throw it down with: “Tell me why you’ve been out here throwing parties without me? Every night you’ pretending that you let go easily. I know you’re with somebody wishing it was me. I know I know you… envy me”.
Samira said: “As the saying goes, ‘if you love someone, set them free’. ‘Envy Me’ is about thatcontradiction of knowing your worth and walking away from a toxic situation knowing it’s not right for you, whilst still being sad at the way things have panned out and still caring enough to be concerned about the other party“.
Samira is rapidly carving a lane of her own to become Britain’s new princess of pop. Last summer, the South London independent singer-songwriter and dancer quietly eased her way into the music industry with the feel-good summer hit ‘I Love Your Smile’, a cover of the 90s Shanice classic and a collaboration with dance collective W.D.C., which amassed over 6 million streams and reached Top 5 on the UK Club Chart. The inescapable dance track spent 16 days on Spotify UK’s Daily Viral Chart and also gave the aspiring popstar her first taste of daytime BBC Radio 1 support.
Earlier this year, Samira launched her edgy debut solo single ‘Like This, Like That’, which earned praise from CLASH, MTV UK and Official Charts. She followed it up with her irresistible, sassy banger ‘That’s Not What My Friends Say’, which was played on Love Island. The track has amassed over 2 million impressions across TikTok and Instagram Reels so far; and comes loaded with killer club remixes by Tease & Reset and Country Club Martini Crew, and a UKG remix by Leventis.
‘Envy Me’ continues Samira’s mission for dancefloor domination; hemmed by two producers with solid footing in the dance music sphere: Tancrede Rouff (who had a track on Odesza’s GRAMMY-nominated album “The Last Goodbye”) and Theo Douke (TCTS and Nono ‘Sorry’ which has amassed over 22 million streams).
Inspired by bona fide performers like Rihanna, Britney Spears and Tinashe, Samira is a triple-threat entertainer to watch for. After years honing her craft in the studio and on stage at the West End; the singer-songwriter, dancer and actress will be stepping into the spotlight in a big way this year.
She has spent the past year in the studio, writing with some of the industry’s biggest hitmakers including Tre-Jean Marie (Little Mix, FLO), Cutfather (Demi Lovato, The Pussycat Dolls), Kal Lavelle (Ed Sheeran), Ryan Ashley (H.E.R., Anne-Marie), Lil Eddie (Rita Ora, Maluma) and more. Stay tuned for Samira’s debut EP due for release later this year.
