The London RnB artist’s rise intensifies with latest record
Boasting a hugely successful pop / RnB catalog, which has seen her amass over 109 million streams on Spotify through writing and collaborating with Sigala, the 22 year old singer, writer and dancer IMANI is now fully focused on her love of RnB and has been working with platinum producer OG Parker on her first studio EP (which features Eric Bellinger, Nija Charles and Jozzy.) After the success of Imani’s first return track this year ‘Fuck Alone’, which bagged just under two million streams globally, she is back with force on her second single ‘2,3’, out on 9th June.
Fresh from performing at the Marley Rose Festival in LA, ‘2,3’ sets the tone for what fans can expect from Imani this summer. The track is about being in a toxic relationship, and how self-love can help navigate you throughout the stages of healing.
With production from OG Parker & GRy, ‘2,3’ is destined to be a summer anthem. After teasing the record on socials, it’s clear Imani has hit on the right formula to create timeless records, giving perspectives in her music that everyone can relate to.
‘2,3’ is set to continue a hot streak for Imani. The release of ‘Fuck Alone’ secured several editorial playlists across all DSP’s, including two of Pandora’s playlists, Indie R&B and Trapsoul, and New Music Friday, Just Dropped, All The Feels & more on Spotify, Apple and Amazon Music UK. Imani has also received heavy radio rotation in the UK via BBC Radio 1, BBC 1XTRA, CapitalXTRA and a feature on Uproxx magazine. ‘Fuck Alone’ managed to receive Track of the Week on BBC 1XTRA shortly after its release, and an official remix by Kaash Paige followed, earning a spot fo Imani to go Live on CapitalXTRA with Manny Norte.
With musical influences from Summer Walker, all the way to Rihanna, Imani can pull off different sounds while all fitting under the umbrella of pop, with Imani’s sweet but soulful tones sitting within an eclectic balance of pop and RnB.
Imani has also proven herself a triple threat, performing with the background of training in full time dance academies alongside singing. An all-round entertainer, Imani’s first show was MTV Crashes with a crowd of 30,000 performing alongside Sigala.
With an already impressive hit rate in the UK, Imani is ready to begin her new journey at the age of 22. With several single releases to follow the sizzling ‘2,3’, success is inevitable for this talented young artist.
