What started as an innocent cover posted onto TikTok in her bedroom has been followed with an overwhelming viral surge and desire for an official release from fans worldwide. Capturing the hearts of many across the globe, Isabel Abbott’s cover of “Can I Call You Rose?” oozes with her signature rich vocals and is laced with a captivating emotional capacity that will leave listeners wanting more. Gaining over 36.7 million organic views across Instagram and TikTok since her initial tease, “Can I Call You Rose?” marks a pivotal moment in Isabel’s career so far. Recorded in Studio 1 at Rak Studios where Rihanna, Adele and Sam Smith have all recorded albums, the newcomer has accumulated over 1400 pre-saves with over a third arriving from the United States.
When asked about the creation of the track in Rak Studios Isabel Abbott explained, “Being in the studio was the first thing that woke me up, kinda like made me think all of this was real. Going in there and seeing all those people there to record me was so surreal. I’ve never had so many people believe in me before, and it just hit me what a crazy amazing opportunity and privilege this was. I think I’ll remember that day forever.”
Hailing from Valencia in Spain but now based in the Northern musical hot-spot of Manchester whilst carrying out her studies at the renowned BIMM University, Isabel Abbott is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter and producer whose infatuation for music sprung from a youthful age. Forming a sound that places her soulful voice in R&B and Pop instrumentals, she draws inspiration from household names including Jorja Smith, Billie Eilish and Rosalía. Creating a spot of virality online with a string of covers, she recently headed down to Shoreditch’s legendary Troy Bar where the likes of Saint Harrison have performed. Receiving an affirmative reaction with her live rendition of the track, Isabel was joined alongside by a live band made up of professional session musicians, one of which has just completed an Asia tour alongside Ed Sheeran.
