After what has been a momentous 12 months for the bubbling star, SOFY has shared her latest anthem “mine” alongside the announcement of her forthcoming mixtape ‘Another Day In Paradise’. Following on from the July release “togethertogether”, the alt-pop sensation is continuing to build a cult-like fan base with her infectious melodies and unrivalled penmanship. Resonating with audiences across the globe, SOFY’s highly anticipated mixtape will mark another defining moment in her career so far.
Encouraging her listeners to confront their deepest thoughts, “mine” addresses the “what ifs?” in your life.
Pushing you to put your best foot forward, SOFY admits her true feelings to a fellow love interest in this irresistible and infectious listen. Anchored with electric guitars and a head-bopping chorus, SOFY’s lilting
toplines and angelic tone glide effortlessly over the guitar laden production.
When asked about the single, SOFY commented, “‘mine’ is a confession, the first time that the feelings hinted at in the first three songs of the project are tentatively admitted – ‘kinda think it’d be better, if you were mine’. It’s about facing all the ‘what ifs’ and confronting your emotions because that’s less scary than keeping those feelings to yourself and wondering what would have happened if you’d done things dif erently. Musically it feels kind of desperate and frantic but lyrically it remains quite tentative, which I think matches the enormous emotions (anxiety, fear, excitement) that go into admitting your feelings for someone for the first time – ‘if stars ever aligned then maybe you’d be mine?’”
SOFY draws inspiration from a diverse range of influences, from 90s grunge to modern electronic beats,
creating a unique sonic palette that resonates with both the nostalgic and the avant-garde. Her tracks are a masterclass in emotional storytelling, seamlessly weaving personal experiences with universal themes of love, loss, and self-discovery.
Following her debut in 2022, SOFY has built an ever-growing fanbase through her authentic sound and
relatable lyricism. Playing major UK festivals including Truck Fest, YNOT, Cosmic Cape, Liam Gallagher’s Malta Weekender and headlining shows at Scala [800 capacity], Lafeyette [600 capacity] and housing a 3 night residency in The Grace [150 capacity] in London, SOFY’s 2023 mixtape ‘Chaos & Commotion’ accumulated millions of streams across DSP’s, solidifying her bubbling status. Supporting the likes of Alfie Templeman on his UK tour in November including show at Kentish Town Forum, and more recently supporting KAWALA on their UK headline tour in May, SOFY is gearing up for another exciting 12 months ahead as she announces her highly anticipated mixtape ‘Another Day In Paradise’, for the 7th March.
