Rising hip-hop/R&B sensation PARIS. releases his new single “Hood Love” via PARTNERS and Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.
The new track, self-written by PARIS. and produced by Just Ideas (Preston Pablo, Roderick Porter, Dom Vallie), arrives after the release of “604,” an homage to his hometown’s area code. PARIS., originally from Burnaby, British Columbia, continues to shout out his city throughout this new track singing “Took her to the V on the east side/B town thuggin by the creek side.”
About the new single, PARIS. says, “‘Hood Love’ is actually a true story about a girl I was talking to in my teen years. She was two years older than me and she was the it-girl in my neighbourhood. A lot of this record is reality rap too, hence the references to Burnaby and some of my peers.”
The highly anticipated new single has already generated over 279K views and 15K likes across pre-release teasers on TikTok, and over 350K views on Instagram.
“Hood Love” arrives on the heels of PARIS.’ partnership with the Toronto Raptors and Sportsnet, highlighting the anthemic track “4th Quarter.” The song’s exclusive music video will be featured on the jumbotron at Scotiabank Arena as well as on Sportsnet during Raptors games throughout the 2024-2025 NBA season.
Speaking about the campaign with Sportsnet host Donnovan Bennett, PARIS. said, “To get to the point where I am now, this is another checkpoint. It’s really exciting for me because, if I can do this with my team, I’m sure there will be many more accomplishments along the way.”
“Hood Love” and the Raptors collaboration add to a prolific run for PARIS. who has shared a steady stream of new music this year, consistently leveling up with each release. It all started with “Ice Spice,” released in August 2023, racking up hundreds of thousands of streams before he dropped “IDK” a few months later. He kicked off 2024 with “Me N Mines,” a collaboration with California rapper MBNel, before jumping back into his R&B bag with “BNB”. This summer, PARIS. released “Take the Lead” with OVO Sound artist Roy Woods, which quickly became his fastest-growing song to date.
Nov 29th, PARIS. celebrated the release of “Hood Love” with a homecoming headline show in Vancouver at Celebrities Nightclub. He continues his live run with a Toronto show on December 5 at The Cave. Earlier this summer, the rising star performed at Sabaidee Fest in California, the largest annual Southeast Asian Music and Cultural festival in the United States. He has been featured in Etalk, RANGE Magazine, and more, with the latter stating that he “stands out from the pack with the kind of self-assuredness possessed by some of the greats.”
