Samira stakes her claim one of the UK’s hottest rising stars to watch in 2024 with the release of her debut EP “Dancefloors & Drama Vol. 1”. Combining her love of powerhouse dance-pop performances and inspiration from personal heartbreak; this six-track collection of anthemic bangers includes the new single ‘Broke Me Good’.

The powerful ‘Broke Me Good’ is Samira’s most intensely personal track yet, forged from the trauma of a destructive past relationship. She sings over stormy 80s synths and electric guitars: “I’m played, I’m used but I’m alive. If I survive this fall, guess I’m invincible…”

Produced by renowned pop producer Cutfather – who has worked with Kylie, The Pussycat Dolls and on Samira’s debut solo single ‘Like This, Like That’ – the dramatic track serves as the perfect final piece of “Dancefloors & Drama Vol.1”.

Samira said: “I’m so excited to finally unleash my debut EP alongside the final piece of the puzzle ‘Broke Me Good’ – one of my favourite and most personal songs I’ve ever written. It’s been so incredible to see people reacting so strongly to the lyrical content of the song – alongside the rest of the EP, it should give people a really strong idea of who I am as an artist, what I’ve got to say, and what’s to come throughout the rest of 2024. I’ve had an incredible start to my music career, and it’s thrilling to see that reflected across this tracklist”.

With over 10 million global streams and three UK Top 5 Club chart hits; Samira is rapidly carving a lane of her own to become Britain’s new princess of pop. After years of honing her craft in the studio with some of the industry’s best hitmakers, the South London singer-songwriter’s debut EP presents a clear, glittering statement of who Samira is as an artist.

She introduced herself with the edgy first single ‘Like This, Like That’ early last year, which quickly earned praise from tastemaker press like CLASH, MTV UK, NOTION and Official Charts. Two singles followed into summer; the sassy ‘That’s Not What My Friends Say’ became a UK Top 5 Club chart success, while ‘Envy Me’ (featured on NME’s Best New Bangers) further cemented Samira’s abilities to spin bittersweet experiences into solid bangers.

The disco-infused ‘Toxic’, co-written with Kal Lavelle (Ed Sheeran), earned praise from BBC Radio 1 Future Pop and Billboard’s ‘Cool New Pop Songs of The Week’. Billboard: “Samira has spent the year releasing a string of increasingly promising singles, and ‘Toxic’ bests them all”. She wound down 2023 with the sizzling, reggaeton bop ‘Good At Goodbyes’, which earned her yet another BBC Radio 1 Future Pop nod.

Inspired by Black dance-pop queens who came before her like Rihanna, Janet Jackson and Kelly Rowland; Samira is a triple-threat entertainer to watch for. After years of writing and developing in the studio and on stage at the West End; the singer-songwriter and dancer is finally ready to take 2024. Stay tuned for more!
