Discussing the inspiration behind her latest release, Houston explains; “Heart over head is about the difficulties that you face when being stuck in a toxic relationship. No matter how bad this person is for you, you always find yourself going back because the love and lust you have for them is undeniable. Making the decision to follow your head or your heart is challenging. When we are in a toxic relationship, we always want to listen to what our heart is telling us to do. But sometimes our head is telling us otherwise, making it difficult to make the right decision”

Growing up in the bustling city of London, specifically Shepherds Bush, West London, Skye Houston found inspiration in her surroundings. At the age of 13, her musical journey began with mentorship from Javier, the former drummer of Stereophonics. He played a pivotal role in Skye’s decision to pursue music, teaching her the art of songwriting. Skye’s commitment to her craft became evident at 16 when she realised her potential as a successful songwriter and singer. Her sound, best described as R&B and soul-influenced pop, reflects depth not only in melody but also in lyrics. Writing music serves as Skye’s form of therapy, allowing her to express vulnerability and share personal struggles.
