QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE ANNOUNCES LONG-AWAITED NEW ALBUM “IN TIMES NEW ROMAN…”

“In Times New Roman…” is out June 16 via Matador Records / Beggars.

The first single ‘Emotion Sickness‘ is now available everywhere.

On Saturday 17 June, Queens of the Stone Age will play at Pinkpop in Landgraaf, The Netherlands.

In Times New Roman…’ is raw, brutal and rough around the edges, but with a refinement that reveals itself further with every listen. QOTSA founder Joshua Homme’s lyrics are the sharpest to date and are backed by QOTSA’s instantly recognizable sonic signature, expanded and embellished with new and unprecedented twists in virtually every track. “In Times New Roman…” is a celebration of the obscene and the beautiful, the outcasts and the weirdos, and everyone in between.

The members of QOTSA felt a little out of place and had trouble finding music they could identify with: In Times New Roman… the sound of a band making the music its own members want to hear, while keeping the gives the rest of us a sonic forum to come together. “The world’s gonna end in a month or two” sings Homme, raising the question: What do you want to do with the time you have left? Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita, Michael Shuman and Jon Theodore can’t save the world, but with their new album they give us a place to sit it out.

The first single from ‘In Times New Roman…’ is ‘Emotion Sickness‘, which wraps the listener in a warm blanket of hypnotic choruses and off killer grooves that QOTSA is known for.

The past few years have been tough for everyone and it’s no secret that the members of Queens of the Stone Age have all experienced their own share of heartbreak and loss. But who among us hasn’t dealt with a recent fit (or two) of Emotion Sickness? A lyric video for “Emotion Sickness” created by Liam Lynch is now available on QOTSA’s YouTube channel.

In Times New Roman… was recorded and mixed in Homme’s own Pink Duck (RIP), with additional recording in Shangri-La. The album was produced by Queens of the Stone Age and mixed by Mark Rankin. The album is available on all digital platforms, on vinyl and CD. The artwork and double LP were designed by Boneface. Vinyl will be available worldwide in black, green, red, silver and blue.
