Today, Pink Siifu announces his fourth solo album, BLACK’!ANTIQUE, out January 27th via Dynamite Hill, in partnership with Roc Nation Distribution. Following a prolific run of collaborative projects for Siifu including Real Bad Flights (with Real Bad Man), Leather Blvd. (with Ahwlee as B. Cool-Aid) and It’s Too Quiet..’!! (with Turich Benjy), his forthcoming album is a return to hone his own distinctive sound. Alongside the announcement of the album, Siifu is sharing new single “WHOUWITHHO+” featuring Dallas-born producer and artist Kal Banx, following “SCREW4LIFE’! RIPJALEN’!” as the second offering from the forthcoming album.
“This album was made with the intent to sharpen and truly show that an artist should be one of one,” Siifu says of his intention behind creating BLACK’!ANTIQUE. “This album is the shit eye say to myself in the mirror. We get each album/project to tell a different side of ourselves, bring you into a world, speak on our existence and express ourselves in depth. Everything present and in front of you isn’t here to stay, but the memory and the stories will forever be something. That’s an Antique’! Something or Someone Who is Here to Stay’! Pink Siifu, who was raised between Birmingham and Cincinnati, has proven himself as a singular voice in contemporary music, with projects that defy traditional formats and serve as emblems of his restlessly experimental drive as an artist. As a solo artist, Siifu received universal acclaim for his 2018 breakout solo album ensley, and obliterated all expectations on his genre-defying album NEGRO, released in 2020, which the New York Times called “the most fearless album in his vast catalog of equally experimental music.” His most recent solo album, 2022’s GUMBO’! set the stage for this next phase of his career. Widely regarded as a catalyst and central figure for his growing creative community, GUMBO’! presented a musical mosaic of all of the influences of his peers across genres and generations, from spoken word by Dungeon Family’s Big Rube to ghettotech from Detroit trio HiTech.
