Prestigious awards have been numerous across their career including the BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music in 2009 and the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music in 2000.
In April 2024 they released their fifteenth album, ‘Nonetheless’, on Parlophone Records – their first with producer James Ford. The record includes the singles ‘Loneliness’, ‘Dancing star’, ‘A new bohemia’ and ‘Feel’ and reached Number 2 in the UK album chart in its first week of release – their highest-charting studio album since 1993. A special expanded edition of the album was released in November featuring the full record, four new bonus songs, including a cover of David Bowie’s ‘All the young dudes’, and the original demo versions of all the tracks on the album.
In July Pet Shop Boys concluded the latest UK and European dates of their ‘Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live’ tour with a sold-out residency at London’s Royal Opera House which received five-star press reviews. In autumn last year they made three spectacular TV appearances in the UK, headlining BBC Radio 2’s ‘Party in the Park’ from Preston, the MTV EMAs from Manchester, and being the musical guests in two consecutive ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ shows on BBC One.
