North London’s wordsmith Armando Spence has returned with fellow newcomer Tay Jordan for the release of their 80’s inspired summer sizzler, “In My Walk”. Forming the perfect duality between nostalgic hip-hop and the modern-day soundscape, “In My Walk” follows on from Armando’s debut mixtape ‘El Tranquilo’ released earlier this year. Continuing to solidify his one-to-watch status, the pair have created an irresistible listen that’s perfect for the summer months.
Housing a pulsing production reminiscent of the 80’s courtesy of reputable UK producer Likkle Dotz (Headie One, K-Trap, Clavish etc) both Armando Spence and Tay Jordan take their turn on the head-bopping beat. Encapsulating the feel-good energy of summer, “In My Walk” is a wheel-up worthy single that boasts Armando’s versatility and lyrical dexterity. On a mission to prove why he’s one of the hottest up-and-coming acts in the UK’s rap scene with his use of infectious flows, playful bars, and slick sound, “In My Walk” is another stand-out release from the newcomer.
Speaking on the creation of the release Armando Spence and Tay Jordan stated, “‘In My Walk’ is expensive and refined rap music coming from the streets of North and South London. Armando Spence and Tay Jordan float over a bouncy 80s style beat courtesy of Likkle Dotz. ‘In My Walk’ is reminiscent of the boastful and hard hitting rhymes of a Blade Brown track mixed with a LNDN DRGS/ Larry June bounce”
Hailing from North London is Armando Spence, otherwise known as the self-proclaimed “Rookie Of The Year”. Posing as the founder of the Champions To Be record label and collective, Spence has built a growing community that resonates with creatives alike.
In the past 12 months Armando has accumulated support from Beats 1 (Rebecca Judd), Rinse FM (Esky), Warmth Ldn on Balamii and Scary Things on NTS Radio, with more music on the way the trailblazer is becoming a force to be reckoned with.
