‘Found’ is a perfect example of the refined, quietly emotional atmosphere of “Like A Ribbon“. Produced by Kwes Darko, “Found” acts as an uplifting mantra that offers a light at the end of the tunnel of everyday struggles. Over ethereal textures and stretched vocal samples, John Glacier expresses her determination to make it through the dark days in her signature, meditative flow.

On “Like A Ribbon”, John Glacier paints an honest picture of her life, from a simple existence in Hackney to sharing stories with the world as she tries to maintain some normality in an extraordinary life. Producer Kwes Darko provides the musical background to John’s story, with contributions from Flume, Andrew Aged of Mk.gee, Surf Gang, Eartheater, Sampha and others.

John Glacier is an acclaimed vocalist whose work was in high demand even before the release of her debut project “SHILOH: Lost For Words”. She has pushed the boundaries of UK rap with a diary-like style. This style highlights both the mundane and the complexity of human emotions, through its unique phrasing and perspectives. This sensitivity, together with the mythology surrounding her person, has also made her attractive to the fashion world. She is one of the faces of and provided bespoke poetry for Daniel Lee’s iconic first campaign for Burberry. She has also found admirers at brands such as Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, J.W. Anderson and many others.

Her debut album “Like A Ribbon” provides John Glacier with the platform to explore the boundaries of her compelling sound, probing her own psyche in a way that is both abstract and completely relatable. Her poetic style is central to the album, shaping modern life as a young woman growing up in Hackney; connected to her birthplace while at the same time seeming to exist in a completely different dimension.
