Marking Blakie’s triumphant return to music following his acting in Netflix’s global hit ‘Top Boy’, Steve McQueen’s ’Lovers Rock’ and Candice Carly-Williams ‘Champion’ to modelling for the likes of Topman and Billionaire Boys Club, “Yeah Man” is a ferocious single that boasts dancehall and bashment-themed vocal passages with pirate radio grime flows. Accumulating over 5 million views on TikTok prior to its release, the Lewisham-based MC is preparing fans for his highly anticipated album, ‘Bare Energy’. Previously gaining co-signs from UK hit-maker Central Cee, Skepta, D Double E, Novelist, Deema and more, Blakie is back to prove his one-to-watch status.

Exuding nostalgia, Blakie takes fans on a swift trip down memory lane. Combining comic books with rap, historically recognised as the 6th element of Hip-Hop, “Yeah Man” follows the story of Captain Yard Man. In true Batman and Robin style, his sidekick, the one and only resurrected grime scene superhero Murkle Man — a.k.a Boy Better Know’s Jammer, joins Blakie on an unforgettable journey, adding his signature ad-libs across the track. Weaving his Jamaican heritage in with the classic Grime flows, “Yeah Man” continues to solidify Blakie’s innovative approach both sonically and creatively. Gearing supporters up for his forthcoming album ‘Bare Energy’, 2025 marks Blakie’s ultimate comeback.

When asked about the release Blakie commented, “’Yeah Man’ is one of my lyrics that people love when I perform and I love to perform. The song lets people know where I’m from and what I’m about which is very important to me. The song has the attitude of a yard man that don’t take no rubbish from no one but done in an island way which is Vybz Kartel mixed with some British humour.”
