About Barney Bones
Straight out of South Central Los Angeles comes Barney, an artist/songwriter who refuses to play by anyone’s rules. Forget the tired tropes of what an artist from his zip code is “supposed” to sound like—Barney’s new album, Boneyard Canyon, USA, is an audacious leap into uncharted territory. Terrace Martin aptly described it as “Ghettopop,” but even that label doesn’t capture the kaleidoscope of Rap, Dance, and Funk that pulses through these songs like a runaway freight train. It’s heartbreak. It’s loss. It’s liberation. It’s the soundtrack to a late-night drive through a city that’s as unforgiving as it is beautiful.

Last year, Barney made waves with a feature run that would make lesser mortals weep. He joined Kaytranada on Jason Martin and DJ Quik’s “Chupacabra,” brought the heat to Jay Worthy and Dam-Funk’s The Magic Hour, and delivered a searing performance on Channel Tres’ “Berghain” from Headrush, a track that landed on FIFA ’25 and became an anthem for the nocturnal. Co-signs came rolling in like thunder: Kaytranada, DJ Quik, Terrace Martin—the kind of endorsements that solidify legacies before the ink dries.

Now, Barney is ready to stake his claim with Boneyard Canyon, USA, dropping late March. The lead single, “Birds,” is a hypnotic collaboration featuring Buddy and Samant, with production by Samant, ROHO, and Jupiter’s Sick of Cruza—a track that soars, stings, and leaves a mark.

Barney isn’t just releasing an album; he’s detonating a cultural bomb. Boneyard Canyon, USA isn’t just music—it’s a manifesto, a challenge, a middle finger to the status quo. With his sights set high and his roots planted deep, Barney is ready to remind the world that art doesn’t ask for permission—it takes what it’s owed.
