KESHI RELEASES REQUIEM, HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED SOPHOMORE ALBUM, OUT NOW

INCLUDES NEW SINGLE “SOFT SPOT”

After building excitement among a global audience for months, acclaimed Houston-born singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, keshi, presents his anxiously awaited sophomore album, Requiem, out now via Island Records/Universal Music Canada.

The album’s ever-evolving emotional and sonic spectrum embraces everything from luminous alternative pop and dance floor-ready energy to pensive country and indie eclecticism. Simultaneously, keshi’s lyrics cut deep, pondering life, death, love, and everything in between. At the helm of his vision, he not only sang these words with palpable emotion, but he also handled bass, guitar, piano, and viola. Among many highlights, “Soft Spot” illuminates the nuance of his approach and its natural pop appeal. He connects by remaining real, giving Requiem raw heart. “I named the album after a song on it that’s dedicated to a friend and collaborator, who passed away just over a couple of years ago now,” keshi shared. “In classical music, a requiem is a piece that you play when laying someone to rest, and this whole record, the culmination of his and our efforts, is my way of doing that for his memory.”

Keshi invited listeners into the realm of Requiem by sharing a procession of standout tracks. Most recently, he unveiled “Texas,” an ode to his hometown. The first track off the album, “Say,” introduced the sonically grand world keshi is building on Requiem. It has become keshi’s fastest streamed record, reaching 1M plus listens on Spotify alone within the first day.  In an extensive profile, USA Today praised “Say” and highlighted how “its city pop tones are just a taste for what’s to come on Requiem, and OnesToWatch raved, “This single is effortlessly funky, with an intoxicating hook that reminds you why the Houston native has already built the legacy he has.”

In recent years, keshi has become a streaming force, racking up over 11 billion streams across his trilogy of EPs and debut album, GABRIEL, released in 2022. The strength of his catalog has allowed keshi to tour the world repeatedly, selling out shows globally and continually elevating his live productions and performances. In support of Requiem, keshi will be embarking on a headlining, world tour that will include iconic arenas such as Madison Square Garden in New York, Kia Forum in Los Angeles, The O2 in London. Tickets are on sale now at keshimusic.com.

ABOUT keshi:
Born Casey Luong and raised in Sugar Land, Texas, keshi has built a massive career almost entirely on the strength of his innate ability to render emotional vulnerability through song. Since 2017, he’s released a trilogy of EPs and a breakthrough debut album GABRIEL — which crossed over 3 billion streams alone — weaving the rhythms and melodies of pop, R&B, lo-fi, and hip hop into barefaced confessions about love, loneliness, and loss. After a whirlwind two-years of straight touring the world, keshi landed back in Texas, in need of something different: time and space, the freedom to work on music unbothered by the hectic chaos of live shows and promotion, and a home studio in which he could create a sophomore album that encompassed all he had learned and lived. Requiem is the culmination of a career on the brink — of blockbuster success, arena-sized shows, and a powerful personal evolution.

He was once a kid from Texas wavering about quitting his job as a nurse to pursue his dreams as a musician; now, he is a rockstar, set to headline arenas like Madison Square Garden and The O2, with a ravenous fan base who has stuck with him since his SoundCloud days. GABRIEL led to two, back-to-back headlining North American tours, one world tour, and one tour in China, showing his exponential growth from selling out small cap venues to two nights at both Radio City Music Hall and The Greek Theatre. GABRIEL also reached #4 on Billboard, which became the highest charting debut album from a new artist in 2022, and the singles, including “LIMBO,” “UNDERSTAND,” and “GET IT,” became viral sensations. Additionally, keshi notably contributed “War With Heaven” to Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: The Album and has collaborated with brands including YSL, Fender, Microsoft, Fendi and more.
