A five-year hiatus for one of the most innovative electronic acts on the Nordic club scene is over. Kenton Slash Demon are back celebrating friends and unity with their new double single-release, ‘Cookie / Janni‘, out now via Future Classic.

Ever since their breakout in 2010the Copenhagen-based duo consisting of childhood friends Jonas Kenton and Silas Moldenhawer have proved to be an ever-changing organism, now shapeshifting once again as Kenton Slash Demon return with the infectious beats of ‘Cookie / Janni‘.

We’ve been making music together ever since we bonded over electronic club music in high school. Over the years, we’ve collected a seemingly unlimited hard disc of musical eras shared between us while our studio has always been a creative space to join forces with all the amazing people we’ve met on our way. The next era of Kenton Slash Demon is going to be a celebration of people – of friendship and unity,” the duo says.

The bouncy bass-driven lead single, Cookie, features a soulful sample by the Danish singer, Coco O., acclaimed for her work with Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator, Pharrell Williams and Drake. ‘Janni‘, on the other hand, offers Kenton Slash Demons sheer ability of crafting melancholic electronic soundscapes with an intriguing dancefloor ready feel.

‘The Schwarzschild Trilogy’-singles – ‘Sun’, ‘Matter’ and ‘Daemon’– introduced Kenton Slash Demon to the stage in 2010. Almost 10 years followed with a string of diverse, memorable and distinct releases such as ‘Harpe / Syko’ and ‘TT / Dok’ while ‘Cookie / Janni’ marks the end of a five-year hiatus.

Jonas Kenton and Silas Moldenhawer are notably famous in their home country as 2/3 of the multi-award-winning indie outfit, When Saints Go Machine.

More Kenton Slash Demon tracks and live shows are in the pipeline for 2024 and beyond…
