JANN’S MULTILAYERED DEBUT ALBUM SETS THE TONE FOR MODERN POP

In his latest release, I store my fear and my pain in the nape of my neck, rising Polish pop sensation, Jann, courageously and unapologetically invites listeners to glimpse into his very soul through seven tracks of raw, poetic lyricism delivered through striking, multi-octave operatic vocals and finely-layered beats.

Coming off the heels of a hugely successful shared European tour with Madison Beer, Jaan released his hit single “Arachnophobia”—a stirringly introspective track that caught the stream-waves like wildfire,
with lyrics that fittingly provided his debut album with its poetic title.

Throughout I store my fear and my pain in the nape of my neck, Jann demonstrates a fundamental mastery of the synergistic pairings of performance and production that creates truly exceptional music—
seamlessly blending multi-layered backtracks and wide-ranging vocals, and the delicate merging of ‘the classic’ with ‘the cutting-edge’.

I store my fear and my pain in the nape of my neck is refreshing in its versatility – perpetually keeping listeners on their toes with unexpected elements of inspiration and unlikely stylistic parings, occasionally
blending nostalgia with quintessential modern sentiments. The album’s centerpiece, “The Letter”, is an ethereal, piano driven track with haunting Thom Yorke-esque vocals reminiscent of Kid A-era Radiohead;
Decision” opens with hints of Chris Isaak’s classic “Wicked Game” before suddenly twisting into a modern dance track; the album’s closer, “What do you want from me?”, is thoroughly modern-pop, à la Billie Eilish and FINNEAS’ “Bad Guy”, boasting playful beats with a driving chorus, occasionally dipping into poignant, whispering vocals.

While familiar pop elements subtly appear throughout Jann’s impressive debut album, they do so in a form of inspirational homage before metamorphizing into something entirely unique – a promising peek into the vanguard of a new wave of pop music.

Jann’s I store my fear and my pain in the nape of my neck is more than a mere debut album showcasing potential; it’s a statement—and an encouraging one at that.

Jann is embarking on his own headline tour throughout Europe and the UK this Autumn, with shows already selling out.
