In Two Worlds is the new short film featuring London-based singer-songwriter IYAMAH, premiered on Thursday, November 14th. The six-minute project showcases four songs from her April-released album of the same name, visually exploring their themes, culminating into one compelling narrative.
In Two Worlds is all about our dreams and realities, how they can seem so close, and yet so far away from each other at the same time. This project all began with a tarot reading which encouraged IYAMAH to reflect on her life’s choices, decisions and experiences involving three cards which represent the past, present and future.
IYAMAH goes on a symbolic journey through her inner struggles. Facing challenges from sword fights to facing the elements, IYAMAH’s experiences explore themes of self-doubt, rebellion, and vulnerability through dramatic imagery. In Two Worlds reflects the conflict between her past and present selves, as she performs the tracks 8 Of Swords, Ruler, Intuition and The Key.
The short film was directed by William Miller, produced by Huxley Scott and sponsored by Ray-Ban.
About IYAMAH:
IYAMAH is an exciting new name in UK R&B and soul, having already gained heavy support from BBC Radio 1, including receiving a Hottest Record from Clara Amfo. Growing up in Brighton, she began songwriting at twelve, using the piano for diary-like expression. By sixteen, she was writing top lines for DnB tracks for renowned label Shogun Audio and featured on My Nu Leng’s ‘Senses’, performing at festivals like Glastonbury and SW4.
After moving to London at nineteen to study at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, IYAMAH won a scholarship for her vocals. She’s toured with Masego and Mahalia, performed at London’s Cross The Tracks festival, and recorded live sessions for platforms like Redbull and Majestic Casual. With over 20 million streams, she continues to receive support from industry figures, including Yazmin Evans and DJ Ace from BBC 1Xtra.
As a solo artist, IYAMAH is cultivating her unique soulful R&B sound, which she calls ‘rootsy soul’, while staying connected to her musical roots. Her lyrics often explore themes of identity, self-worth, and female empowerment, marking her as an exciting voice in contemporary music.
