The UK’s answer to the likes of Frank Ocean and Steve Lacy” – Evening Standard

The man who doesn’t want to be put in a box” – GUAP

Multi-hyphenate, House of EL aka Kieron McIntosh, demonstrates his unrivalled, musical versatility in his latest offering, “Don’t Let Your Love Go”. A track firmly within House of EL’s left-field capabilities yet with a slightly indie/electro-leaning appeal.

Defined by the irresistible quirk of House of EL’s innate funk undertones, “Don’t Let Your Love Go” is a layered offering of both instrumental delight and positive affirmation. “During lockdown I met a homeless guy outside a shop everyday and he had been kicked out of his house by his wife, he was so positive and full of love…I was inspired. DLYLGA is a reminder that in the face of difficulty and mayhem to stay positive and show love. Being and artist and producer, I wanted to write and produce something positive but hopefully still with that modern House of EL grit”, House of EL explains.

Aligning with Clash Magazine’s recent appraisal of McIntosh’s “rays of optimism”, the single arrives with good reason to embrace such hope, given the firm foundations it lands on. With extensive support from BBC Radio 1, 1xtra, Introducing, 6 Music, Independent, DMY, Wonderland, New Wave Magazine, Notion, Colors, Trench, Complex, Lyrical Lemonade, Clash, Record of the Day and national newspaper Evening Standard who described him as “the UK’s answer to the likes of Frank Ocean and Steve Lacy”, there isn’t really a tastemaker left unturned.

For someone as musically talented as House Of EL, one would think ego might come with the territory, but there’s not an ounce of it to be found.” – CLASH MAGAZINE
