An ethereal electro journey bridging classic Detroit and Milan modernity
Milan duo Hiver mark a decade in the game with the equally ethereal yet anthemic new single, ‘Dreamachine’, out now via CircoLoco Records.
A signature piece of atmospheric electro inspired by Detroit’s ambient electro scene, ‘Dreamachine’ draws listeners close with its snappy groove, sitting within an expansive, airy space with floating vocals and sweeping synth pads. For his remix, Gerd Janson leans into the melody, propelling the track to peak time territory by adding an ascending Italo disco-esque bassline, rave keys and a 4/4 kick.
“The single explores themes of dreams and the ephemeral, delivering a unique auditory experience that blends rhythmic precision with atmospheric depth,” says Hiver. “On a more personal level, this single is also a testament to our growth as producers. We’ve invested countless hours in honing our studio skills, experimenting with sound design, and perfecting the production process to craft something that feels authentic and unique. The track reflects our love for the electro sound while pushing boundaries to create something unique.”
Described as “the middle ground between US and European electronic music,” Hiver have steadily built a reputation for their melodic and rhythmic approach to electronic music, with releases on labels such as Curle Recordings, Luke Hess’s Deeplabs, and Peggy Gou’s Gudu Records. Their decade-long journey has included performances at iconic venues and festivals such as Panorama Bar, Tresor, Circoloco, Printworks, Dimensions Festival, and ADE. Known for their dynamic DJ sets, Hiver effortlessly moves between house and techno, dipping into electro, delivering experiences tailored to the room and crowd.
‘Dreamachine’ by Milan-based duo Hiver drops on CircoLoco Records today, rounding off an incredible decade of music from the pair, and showcasing Hiver’s storied sonic evolution.
