Part of Shotta’s epic 21-track opus ‘Odyssey’, out April 25th
“Being on this tune with 3 legendary MCs is like getting a call from the avengers. You don’t say no. It’s very exciting…” Rag’n’Bone Man
Sourcing inspiration from every corner of the UK underground, across multiple scenes, Harry Shotta returns with ‘Imposter’, single #04 from his forthcoming 21-track rap album Odyssey, released April 25th on High Focus Records.
Featuring pure bars from 4 lyrical heavyweights in their own right, Harry recruits Brit Award winner Rag’N’Bone Man, grime legend P Money and DnB icon Spyda on atop a sub-heavy soundscape from Manchester producer Metrodome.
‘Imposter’ represents the crowning jewel in Harry’s recent adventures across new rhythms and tempos. Even though the song is rich in its components, the message is simple: While many imitate, there is a special lane where imposters rarely dare to tread.
The aforementioned album ‘Odyssey’, is Shotta’s most personal and ambitious project to date. Inspired to make the project by the passing of his mentor and long-time partner in rhyme, Skibadee, Shotta hides nothing on this deeply emotional album, honouring his roots in hip hop, while weaving in elements of grime, jungle, and DnB – With features from legends like Shabba D, Eksman, Terri Walker, Verb T and Fliptrix. The album sees the acclaimed lyricist return to his hip-hop foundations whilst exploring themes of self-doubt, resilience, and artistic evolution.
With Odyssey set for release on April 25th via High Focus Records, ‘Imposter’ is a bold statement of intent from one of the UK’s most versatile MCs.
