Today, Hailey Knox returns to announce her debut EP For the Best due July 19th. Alongside the announcement, she shares her new single “On Nothing.” The new single finds Hailey coming to terms with the reality of her current situationship as she details how her intended subject has been wasting her time. Her vocals remain strong and steadfast and the realization that her romantic interest will never be the person she had hoped for is eased with her expert pen, an indicator of what For The Best has in store.
The new song follows her previously released single “Double Tragedy,” which she premiered last month on COLORS Studios, as well as celebrated tracks “Stranger” and “11th Hour,” all of which will be included on the upcoming EP.
First picking up the guitar at age of 7 years old, music has always offered Hailey true somatic release. Speaking on her cherished relationship with songwriting she shares, “Once I write a song, I feel like I’m fulfilling my purpose—and not going crazy! It’s not overthought. I’m touching on different vibes like rap and soul, but the guitar is always my safe space.” Through this cherished medium of self-expression, Hailey’s innate musicality has garnered her cosigns from SZA, Justin Bieber, Tierra Whack, Zach Bryan, Robert Glasper, and so many more, slowly becoming every artist’s favorite artist of 2024.
