Inspired by mags’ embrace of another woman – as well as of herself – ‘herified‘ is a song that celebrates moving feelings into actions while the record’s anthemic pop beat is bound to move listeners into action too. Through mags’ characteristic ability to transform her own personal stories into universal feelings, ‘herified’ is music for everyone who seeks the pride-infused joy of life and love!
“‘herified’ comes from taking the passive noun “her” and turning it into an active verb by adding “-fied”; thus, herified. It embraces going from knowing to doing. No longer feeling either terrified or mesmerized but feeling herified,” mags explains and continues:
Though she was born and raised in the Danish countryside, mags is a New Yorker by heart and a Carrie (#SexandtheCity) by nature. Not only does she write and co-produce her own music, having gained worldwide music media praise for the EP’s ‘conversations I’ve had with myself’, ‘happimess’ and her self-titled debut album, mags is also her own art director and stylist having appeared in British Vogue while she is also studying Middle East life and culture at the University of Copenhagen.
This independent songwriter, academic nerd and queer woman is every bit a multi-disciplinary artist. ‘herified’ is the first release by mags following a three-year hiatus while the new album is set to be released in the early spring of 2025.
