Two of the biggest names in music, FISHER and Flowdan make an anticipated linkup that is set to be one of the hottest tracks of the summer
Dance music’s most energetic character, Grammy-nominated FISHER, and Grammy-winning rapper Flowdan team up for the biggest tech-house release this year. ‘Boost Up’ is available on 9th August via Catch & Release Records.
Fisher stated the following about the collaboration: “Stoked to have linked up with Flowdan for our new single boost up out on Catch & Release !! Been a fan of Flowdan for a while, and to be able to link up on this one is huge !! Yeww boost up”. Flowdan also commented “This is the Energizer Bunny’s theme tune”.
‘Boost Up’ showcases Flowdan’s deep, resonant tone, dipping with a rhythmic cadence between FISHER’s choppy break-led house beat and synth bleeps. A turbocharged hit, in-demand live act Flowdan compares the energy the duo bring on stage to a souped-up engine – “Yeah we’ve got the energy, we juiced up – maximum boost up”.
For Australian party starter FISHER, 2024 has been another monumental year. He kicked the year off hosting his own sold-out 30,000-person festival, Out 2 Lunch, on the Gold Cast in Queensland, then in March sold out two nights at the famed Cow Palace in San Francisco, followed by a trio of sold-out shows at Brooklyn Navy Yard over the 4th of July weekend. Every Wednesday, FISHER’s infectious fun-loving energy graces Hï Ibiza for his weekly residency, and he’s set to host his own festival at London’s Gunnersbury Park on 9th August, inviting Purple Disco Machine, Vintage Culture, Chloé Robinson and many more stellar guest DJs.
After his Grammy-nominated breakout single ‘Losing It’ – now at over 600M streams – was released in 2018, the Aussie producer’s been busy cooking up bangers. He’s recently worked with none other than Jennifer Lopez, re-jigging her 1998 hit ‘Waiting For Tonight, and has dropped an official remix of Gotye’s 2011 chart-topper, ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’. He’s also turned Bob Marley & The Wailers’ iconic reggae track, ‘Jamming’, into a peak-time rave jam and recently remixed Marlon Hoffstadt AKA DJ Trance Daddy’s brilliant underground hit, ‘It’s That Time’, a dancefloor destroyer that’s been making an impact worldwide.
This hot pairing drops during a pivotal purple patch for Flowdan, after he became the first British MC to win a Grammy award with his chart-topping hit, ‘Rumble’, produced by Skrillex and Fred again.., in February. In October 2023, he took centre stage at the international boxing event ‘Battle of the Baddest‘ between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia, performing to millions worldwide alongside US rap star Lil Baby, which led to their collaborative track, ‘Pepper’ – another pivotal collaboration.
A former member of both Roll Deep and Pay As U Go, Flowdan has established himself as a key cog in the British electronic music machine. Known by many as the growling voice of The Bug’s devastating 2007 track, ‘Skeng’ ft. Killa P, Flowdan has lent his vocals to multiple cross-genre projects. These include the wobbly UKG track, ‘Shella Verse’ with Sammy Virji and the platinum -status jump-up drum & bass smasher ‘Baddadan‘ with Chase & Status, Bou, Irah, Trigga & Takura.
A full-throttle collaborative track for the ages, ‘Boost Up’ by FISHER and Flowdan shows once again how Flowdan can apply his renowned vocals to any type of track – and this one’s a belter.
