Rising South London pop newcomer Samira has unleashed her latest track, ‘See Through You’. The emotive, DnB-infused track is co-written by Samira with electronic pop producer PALMR.
‘See Through You’ marks a confident and unapologetic new chapter for the emerging singer-
songwriter. Sketched after observing a string of messy nights out and the even darker comedowns of her closest friends, the lyrics stare through the artifice of hedonism to uncover a hidden truth.
Samira said: ‘I’m so excited to get this song out there – it’s a real change of pace for me and one of my favorite things I’ve ever written. I love how dark the production and the lyrics are – it’s a real statement of intent as to who I am as an artist and where I’m taking things for the next EP.’
Following the release of her debut EP “Dancefloors & Drama Vol. 1” in January, Samira has spent the past six months honing her craft in the studio with some of the industry’s most exciting names in UK dance, electronic and pop.
Samira released a string of singles in 2023 that showcased her ability to spin bittersweet experiences into solid pop bangers – including ‘Toxic’, ‘Broke Me Good’ and ‘Envy Me’. The releases garnered buzz and press support from CLASH, Billboard, NME Best New Bangers, BBC Radio 1 Future Pop and MTV UK.
Further to writing with renowned pop songwriters and producers like Cutfather (Kylie Minogue) and Kal Lavelle (Ed Sheeran), Samira continues to keep her footing in the fast-paced UK dance music scene. Her collaboration with WDC on the 2022 club remake of ‘I Love Your Smile’ earned Samira the first of her three UK Top 5 Club Chart placements. She also teamed up with in-demand British DJ ESSEL for the infectious ‘Where My Girls At’.
