Thursday the 5th of December Elle Massimo returns to the Neo-Soul RnB scene with her latest single, ‘Is This Really Done’ released independently via AWAL, reflecting on the on & off post break up phase that has us all thinking, is this REALLY done? This being Elle’s sophomore single release of 2024 after a brief hiatus out of the release cycle last year to focus on honing in on her signature sound whilst immersing herself into sessions.
Production comprises Canada’s Conor Seidel (cuts include: Katie Tupper, Charlotte Cardin) & British London based Producer-Artist Amelia Rose, the collaboration focussing heavily on delivering live fronted soulful production with modern elements. Vocals were tracked this side of the pond at the Spotify studios in Metropolis, Chiswick & Hackney Studios, Hoxton.
“Is This Really Done” follows in the footsteps of Massimo’s latest offering single ‘POV’ which arrived this October produced by Sam Posener, a North London based Multi-instrumentalist & songwriter garnering cuts with the likes of; James Vickery, Cat Burns, Kadeem Tyrell to mention a few. The track was championed by the editorial team at Wonderland, landing in their weekly ‘Wonderlist” selects, adopted airplay on BBC Intro South & landed playlist placement on “One’s to Watch” #nowwatching.
The songstress cites inspiration from artists such as Snoh Aalegra, Leon Thomas, Maeta & Sasha Keable,
“powerhouses of whom make modern music feel timeless”, stating that the above acted as sonic references within the string of sessions she undertook whilst creating this new music.
