Building on what’s been a striking year of releases so far with “Spell It Out”, “Gone Cold”, and “Maybe I”, the Brighton-based trio Honeybadger have unleashed their highly anticipated EP, ‘Self Titled’. Reputed for their trailblazing blend of punk, indie rock, and grunge, the band continue to solidify their bubbling status with a body of work that commands your attention.

Drawing from the reckless abandon of punk, the introspective hooks of indie rock, and the visceral punch of grunge, Honeybadger delivers a uniquely potent sound that refuses to be tamed. Their debut EP is a testament to the band’s unapologetic attitude, with tracks that rage against conformity, dive into personal struggles, and capture the urgency of youth. This EP isn’t just a collection of songs; it’s a statement. It’s the sound of a band on the cusp of breaking through, ready to shake up the scene with anthems that demand to be played loud. Buckle up—Honeybadger are about to make their mark, and this is just the beginning.

Opening the project with pre-released fan favourite “Maybe I”, a roaring release that explores an unapologetic overconfidence by someone who’s way over their head. Honeybadger channel frustrating experiences they’ve previously encountered into an intense spin built for a high energy performance. Swiftly moving into “Gone Cold”, the trio boast their artistic prowess through a high-octane sound that’s enriched with captivating rhythm’s and electrifying riffs. Pushing sonic boundaries with the grunge-infused track “Spell It Out”, Honeybadger unleash a raw and perfectly chaotic energy into the head-thrashing track “Back To Bed” before closing out the project on a climatic note in “Dive In”.

Their explosive live shows have already made waves, with standout performances at The Alternative Escape Festival and as a support act for the likes of Dead Air, Torus, Grey Wind, and Sick Joy. They’re no strangers to the airwaves either, making regular appearances on BBC Introducing and even performing in the BBC Live Lounge. With backing from major radio stations like Planet Rock, Radio 1, Radio X, Kerrang! Radio, and BBC Radio 6 (Steve Lamacq), Honeybadger is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. Housing previous support in the media from New Noise, Forever Loud, Music Week, Record Of The Day, and CLASH Magazine, who praised their ability to “meld together punk, indie rock, and psychedelic tropes,” Honeybadger has become a must-see live act across the UK.

When asked about the EP, band member Eddy commented, “This EP is the biggest project we’ve been part of as a band, and we couldn’t be prouder of the music we’ve made. It’s about friendship, relationships, and the bullshit we all deal with, packed into five tracks that’ll knock your socks off!

Honeybadger, formed by brothers Eddy (guitar, vocals) and Joe (drums), alongside their longtime friend Luca (bass), channels the raw power of bands like Drenge, Them Crooked Vultures, Pretty Vicious, and The White Stripes. Based in Brighton, the trio who describe their sounds as “high-energy garage punk,” is shaking up the rock scene with their fierce blend of punk, indie rock, and grunge that demands your attention. Packed with an unapologetic grit that sits seamlessly between scorching guitar riffs, edgy vocals, and pounding drums, all underpinned by thunderous basslines that instantly leaves you wanting more.
