BRAZILIAN “FUTURE OF POP” NONÔ RELEASES LATIN-STYLE SINGLE ‘VEM’

The talented superstar-in-the-making recently headlined a stage at Reading, supported Example on his tour in February, and performed trackside at Silverstone, as well as being added to the F124 video game soundtrack

Brazilian singer-songwriter and the “future of pop” (Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1), Nonô returns with her sweltering new Latin-style single, ‘Vem’ via Helix Records, out now.

The second track to be released from her forthcoming EP, following May’s huge ‘ALÔ’ (stream HERE), ‘Vem’ is a fiery Latin explosion on which Nonô celebrates her roots in style. Lively percussion rattles into bursting brass, while Nonô switches between Portuguese and English, her silky quickfire vocals cutting between the Latin-hip-hop instrumental.

According to the soon-to-be superstar, the EP’s ‘Vem’ single is inspired by fun times with family, as Nonô explains: “A phrase that represents Brazilian culture is, ‘igual coração de mãe, sempre cabe mais um,’ which means, ‘just like a mother’s heart, we always have space for one more.’ I wrote this song about my family and the spirit of when we get together—conversations overlapping each other, mate being passed around, Tim Maia playing in the background, and an overall good vibe that welcomes everyone.”

Born in Rio De Janeiro and now living in London, Nonô’s been a standout singer-songwriter in the music scene over the last few years, racking up over 170 million streams and an incredible 1.5 million monthly Spotify listeners. She headlined the Climate Stage at Reading Festival in August, supported Example on his tour in February, performed trackside at Silverstone, and her leftfield dance track ‘ALÔ’, the first angle from the upcoming EP, was recently featured in the F124 video game soundtrack, joining names such as Fontaines DCKenya GraceDisclosure and Skrillex.

Nonô’s sound, which blends her Latin American heritage with dance, has landed her on major playlists like New Music Friday in the UK, US, Brazil, and Germany, as well as MintMassive Dance Hits, and Happy Beats. She’s also been noticed by several publications, such as NME, who in 2021 called her a “rising talent ready to become your new favourite artist” and Dork Magazine, who marked Nonô as “one to watch”. Her tracks, such as her hit collab with Majestic, ‘Time To Groove’ (24M+ streams), and her dance version of Gorillaz’s ‘Feel Good Inc.’ (22M streams), have been championed on BBC Radio 1 by the likes of Jack SaundersDiplo, and Scott Mills, and has also been featured countless times on Capital Dance and Kiss FM playlists.

Nonô is delivering her Brazilian flavour to the UK one hit at a time. One to watch, ‘Vem’ is another addition to the emerging talent’s impressive catalogue. Strap in for her incredible upcoming EP featuring both ‘Vem’ and ‘ALÔ’, arriving this November.
