ATRIP CALLS ON KAM-BU FOR CATHARTIC MAIN ROOM ANTHEM

This is the latest single from ATRIP’s forthcoming mixtape release TANZPARTEI II

After announcing the release of his forthcoming mixtape TANZPARTEI II, rising producer/DJ ATRIP strikes while the iron is hot, dropping his stirring new track ‘Ocean’ featuring KAM-BU.

On ‘Ocean’, ATRIP’s intricate production creates a cinematic backdrop for KAM-BU’s riveting monologue, where he intensely muses on the importance of human connection and the necessity for escape from the dull gloom of the city. The song’s rumbling bass and shuffling percussion fills the track with tension, release found in its melodic moments, interposed by ethereal synths and vocals.

Coming together at the very end of one of their studio sessions, ATRIP played the original demo of ‘Ocean’ to KAM-BU who, after sitting silently and letting the track wash over him, walked into the vocal booth, freestyling what would be 95% of the final lyrics that we hear on the record.

Ocean” is one of the most significant releases from my upcoming tape,” shares ATRIP. “it’s a song that tells a story of healing and adventure, which is a core notion of the overall mixtape. “Ocean” is a balance between ecstasy and emotion, and Kam is a rapper that is not afraid to touch onto emotional spheres and display vulnerability in his music, which is something I resonate with deeply.”

ATRIP and KAM-BU have discovered the sweet spot where their respective worlds collide; capturing chaos, release, rage and expression that are all elements found in pockets of both electronic music and rap genres. This, matched with their innate curiosity and admiration for one another’s musical identities, has allowed for an authentic and free-flowing relationship to bloom between the two talents.

Drawing from his soundsystem roots and experiences growing up engulfed in British rave culture, KAM-BU crafts avant garde rap music that combines all these influences to compelling effect. Debut EP Black On Black was a stellar example of these interwoven influences and featured indie-pop poster girl Rachel Chinouriri and generational rap talent Knucks.

Poland-born, London-raised ATRIP is a music obsessive with admiration for the diverse club culture of the UK capital. Over the last 2 years, he has remixed Disclosure, collaborated with fellow London based producer/vocalist Poté (signee to Bonobo’s OUTLIER label), as well as working with two of London’s hottest rap names; next-to-blow West London rapper Bawo and aforementioned KAM-BU. Through his relentless work-rate and steady flow of quality releases, ATRIP has gained recognition from a slew of acclaimed DJs and artists, with co-signs from Fred again.., HAAi, Lil Silva, DJ Seinfeld, Barry Can’t Swim and salute.

His forthcoming mixtape TANZPARTEI II is slated for release on 4th October, a follow-up to his debut mixtape TANZPARTEI which was released in 2023. This second instalment is an ode to community, which is at the heart of what ATRIP is building amongst his audience.

Following a busy lineup of tour dates over the summer, he joins Confidence Man Presents at London’s Fabric this September before heading to Manchester’s Warehouse Project for Disclosure’s takeover.

With ‘Ocean’, ATRIP continues to exhibit his talent for crafting emotionally rich dance music. His collaboration with KAM-BU speaks to his desire to bridge the gap between various styles, genres and scenes, showcasing what can be expected from the full TANZPARTEI II mixtape.
