DJ/producer/songwriter Alex Chapman has shared “Stay The Weekend (Feat. Uffie),” available now via Big Beat Records. The track sees Chapman – known for his hit collaborations with Kim Petras and Troye Sivan – joining forces with singer, songwriter, DJ, and fashion designer Uffie.
Chapman premiered “Stay The Weekend” with Uffie live last night at Gov Ball After Dark x Big Beat Present: Alex Chapman & Friends Single Release Party. He will continue to celebrate the single’s official release with a performance later today at The Governor’s Ball in NYC’s Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
Alex Chapman has earned applause from such high-profile outlets as The New York Times, Pitchfork, Dazed & Confused, and i-D for his experimental dance-pop remixes of such iconic artists as Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat & Rico Nasty. He’s the go-to DJ for brands and artists such as Rihanna’s Met Gala After Party, Mark Ronson and Gucci’s official GRAMMY® after party, and Miley Cyrus’ Endless Summer Vacation Release Party.
Simultaneously influenced by modern pop songcraft, evolving production tech, and LGBTQ+ culture, the Chicago-based DJ and producer soon began creating his own distinctive tracks, including “Horsey,” featuring pop sensation Kim Petras (hailed by NYLON as “deliriously catchy”) and “LFG (Feat. Chloe Angelides).” He also co-wrote Troye Sivan’s GRAMMY® Award-nominated, ARIA Music Award-winning hit single, “Rush,” Jason Derulo’s “ANIMAL” with R3HAB and its murph’s “high and I like it.” Last year saw Chapman celebrate Pride Month with an innovative Today’s Hits DJ Mix, streaming now via Apple Music.
