Popcaan shares a new music video for his song “St. Thomas Native” ft. Chronic Law. The track is included in his latest studio album, Great Is He, which boasts features from Drake, Burna Boy, and Toni-Ann Singh and was released via OVO Sound.
Coming off the heels of his Amazon Music Live Performance, and performances at both Afro Nation and Wireless Fest, Popcaan’s latest music video is a visual ode to his hometown of St. Thomas, Jamaica. Directed by Toxic, Popcaan can be seen basking the natural beauty of his native country, enjoying the realities of life that have helped shape him into the artist he is today.
Released this January, Great Is He is a kaleidoscopic offering, where Popcaan uses all avenues available to explore where he comes from, and his life as one of dancehall’s great superstars. With carefully handpicked features from genre giants Drake and Burna Boy, as well as the next generation’s Jamaican star, Chronic Law, Popcaan sits side by side with the genres that dancehall has inspired. It’s a testament to the variety of dancehall out there, and the breadth of his artistry – where conscious rawness sits next to dance anthems.

About Popcaan:
Since his 2014 debut album, Where We Come From, Popcaan has indeed put in the work. That album and his 2018 follow-up, Forever, debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Reggae Albums. His last project FIXTAPE — which includes “Twist & Turn,” the hypnotic dancehall hit featuring Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR—has racked up over 191 million streams and received accolades from outlets like Pitchfork, who called it “a testament to his place at the forefront of the genre.”
Over his career, Popcaan has collaborated with a diverse array of artists including French Montana, Jamie XX, Young Thug, and Gorillaz, and been featured in The New York Times, Billboard, Complex, The FADER, and more. Signed to Drake’s OVO Sound in 2019, he has worked closely with the superstar, performing as an opening act on the European leg of his Boy Meets World tour.
