Out now, the four-track release comes with a music video for its track ‘Eternal Now’, a life-affirming collage of footage from Gina’s inspiring trip to Zanzibar
‘Lifetime In A Dance’ is the hotly-anticipated new EP from Namibian producer/DJ Gina Jeanz, out now via Temper Tone. Along with the release comes the new truly life-affirming music video for the track ‘Eternal Now’, which you can view below.
The Lifetime In A Dance EP oozes with sunshine, sonically carving through the UK’s winter gloom. Gina careers through her burgeoning palette of afro house and afrotech influences through four tracks, ranging from the tight and funky ‘My High Is…’ to the expansive and emotive synth-laden lead track, ‘Lifetime In A Dance’. Opener ‘Emoko’ is a loopy afro house DJ tool, jewelled with deep, organic drums, while the acoustic ‘Eternal Now’ brims with afro house heart, weaving in African guitar rhythms and further flurries of sampled percussion.
According to Gina, ‘Eternal Now’ “embodies the feeling of being fully immersed in the present moment—a state that feels timeless”. With the help of partner and filmmaker Mousa Sow, Gina crafted a joyous music video for the track—a collage of footage from a magical trip to the African island of Zanzibar, a trip that, according to Gina, heavily inspired the song.
“The song was inspired by the experience of something so vivid and powerful that it feels as though time had stopped,” says Gina, “leaving only that moment to exist. It’s a state of transcendence, where the past and future fade away, replaced by a sense of boundless freedom and presence. My first visit to Zanzibar felt exactly like this—a magical experience forever etched in my memory.
“The visuals reflect the harmony between Zanzibar’s people and its natural beauty—a coexistence that feels effortless. There’s something uniquely welcoming about the African community, a warmth that invites you in with open arms. It’s a feeling I deeply miss when I’m away from the continent: the simple joy of being together, free from the rush of time or the pressure to be anywhere else.”
The Lifetime In A Dance EP caps off an impactful year for Jeanz. In October, she performed at ADE alongside Killamanjaro, VANCO, and Damian Lazarus and hosted a DJ workshop with Pioneer DJ. In July, she supported South African afro tech icon Shimza at his visually impressive Cercle event (CLIPS HERE).
Hailing from Namibia, Gina is an upcoming name known for her bona fide Afro House and afro tech sounds, inspired by sounds from the Namibian diaspora. Trained in classical music and seasoned in Cape Town’s music scene, Gina’s debut album Lucid Theory earned her a spot on Billboard’s Best New Dance Tracks of 2021 with her production for ‘100ml’. She’s performed globally at festivals like Montreux Jazz, UNUM, and this year at the likes of Amnesia Ibiza and London’s KOKO. Her work is championed by platforms like Beatport, BBC 1xtra, and DJ Mag, while she actively supports women in the music industry, helping pave the way for Namibian and African electronic artists worldwide.
Gina Jeanz’s spellbinding EP Lifetime In A Dance is out now on Temper Tone, cementing her reputation as one of the most exciting rising stars in the globally thriving afro house scene.
