A collaboration with Thierry Ganz and the Nigerian artist AYLØ
Tera Kòrá has been one of the key tastemakers in the Dutch club scene for several years now. From DJ performances around the world to hosting his own events at Amsterdam’s Parallel club with Kurashi Collective and collaborating with various international artists. It’ll come as no surprise that the Curaçao-raised artist has just completed his fifth Asia tour, performing in cities including Tokyo, Seoul, Jakarta, Bali and Singapore.
Recently, Tera Kòrá contributed to the Colors Studio single ‘Hey!’ by Nigerian R&B sensation AYLØ. Following successful releases like ‘No Bad Days’ and ‘Walls’—which received support from prominent radio stations such as BBC 1Xtra, Triple J, Soulection, and NPO 3FM—Tera Kòrá is now building up to his debut EP Ultramar with his new single, ‘Jealous Of The Sun’.
In 2018, Tera Kórà began creating mixes, starting with a slow jam R&B mix of Jorja Smith’s ‘On My Mind’, which quickly gained attention. From that moment, Tera Kórà knew the direction his music would take. He aims to create overseas crossovers by blending cultures, genres, and styles. For example, on ‘Jealous Of The Sun’, he collaborates with Nigerian artist AYLØ and Surinamese artist Thierry Ganz, while the production incorporates influences from dancehall, afro, and jazz chords.
‘Jealous Of The Sun’ is about the pain of missing a loved one. On the track, Tera Kórà says: “It describes that intense feeling of longing when you’re at a distance and can only wish to be as present as the sun.”
In 2020, Tera Kòrá launched his first remix and edit pack, titled ‘The Legend of Kòrá’. This project was supported by artists such as Amaarae and Konshens and received international recognition from renowned names like Diplo, Jarreau Vandal, Kel-P, Major Lazer, Jyoty, and Falcons. Recently, the third instalment of ‘The Legend of Kòrá’ remixes and edits was released, further expanding his impressive portfolio of club hits. Fresh off his Asia tour, filled with new experiences, Tera Kòrá is ready to introduce the world to ‘Jealous Of The Sun’.
