The rising DJs of Girls Don’t Sync are thrilled to announce the release of their debut single, “Come Thru“, on their newly launched independent label, Fourmation Records. The track is set to drop on the first day of the group’s highly anticipated “Fourmation” tour.
‘Come Thru’ showcases the collaborative prowess of Gaia, Hannah, Sophia, and Matty, who make up Girls Don’t Sync. The track’s genesis was a true group effort, with the four artists working closely in the studio to craft a sound that pays homage to the nostalgic roots of garage and house music while infusing it with their own unique energy and flair that they’ve become famed and loved for.
“Working together to create something that collectively excites us, being in the room together during the making of ‘Come Thru’, offered us that same energy as when we play; fast-paced, experimental and personal,” explains Gaia. “There is nothing better than when we hit those final embellishments of the track that collectively made us all go: “That’s it!” The power of collaboration will always be at the core of what we do!”
Sophia adds, “Our genre often relies on samples and remixes, so the idea of creating something entirely original was daunting at first. But by using references and inspirations from across the musical spectrum, we were able to craft a track that feels both timeless and fresh.” Ultimately, it’s a track made for the club, says Matty. “It’s a song with numerous elements that will hopefully keep ravers on their toes (literally) and create a real moment of togetherness on the dancefloor.”
With its infectious four-on-the-floor rhythm, emotive piano melodies, and a rallying vocal sample, ‘Come Thru’ is poised to captivate longtime fans of the Girls Don’t Sync collective and newcomers alike. The track’s universal appeal is a testament to the group’s commitment to creating music, transcending generational boundaries, and fostering community globally.
“We wanted ‘Come Thru’ to be an open invitation, a warm hug that could resonate with ravers of all ages,” says Hannah. “By keeping the production clean and effective, we hope to forge a cross-generational connection, honouring the sounds of the past while carving out a bright future for ourselves as artists.”
The release of ‘Come Thru’ on Fourmation Records marks an exciting new chapter for Girls Don’t Sync as they continue to assert their creative vision and expand their musical horizons. Fans can look forward to the group’s upcoming “Fourmation” tour, of which their first London show is already sold out. They’ll no doubt showcase this infectious debut single and offer a glimpse into the bright future these ladies are destined for.
