Ayoni by Jacob Zaoutis
UNCHARTED DOCUMENTARY OUT OCTOBER 22ND ON PARAMOUNT+
Dynamic singer/songwriter, producer and instrumentalist Ayoni shares her single “San Francisco,” an ode to the city that helped create a path of self-discovery and self-love for her. Alongside the new single, Ayoni shares the captivating visuals of her traversing the streets of San Francisco, making stops in Chinatown, the Palace of Fine Arts, The Golden Gate Bridge, and more. The song opens up a new chapter for the multi-faceted artist as her first official release with her new label Def Jam Recordings. Additionally, the new song provides the first taste to a larger project set to arrive from Ayoni next year.
“San Francisco” follows Ayoni’s COLORS performance of “Bitter in Love,” released earlier this year and comes ahead of the arrival of the documentary Uncharted, which originally screened at the Tribeca Film Festival last year and will be released on Paramount+ next Tuesday, October 22nd. Uncharted is produced by Alicia Keys and She Is The Music and follows Ayoni’s journey and those of other BIPOC women creators in the music industry. Ayoni’s song “Purpose,” which was made during the making of the film, can be heard in the trailer and is now available to stream.
Speaking about “San Francisco” Ayoni states, “This record is my goodbye to a long and beloved chapter of my life as much as it is an arrival somewhere new. As we open this door together and officially step into the era of my debut album, I hope we can sit in our vulnerabilities together and that you’ll open your hearts to wherever this wind takes you.”
Hailing from Barbados, Ayoni has emerged as a generational talent with her soaring and soulful pop / R&B vocal stylings. Ayoni has garnered millions of streams and has received widespread acclaim from prominent publications such as OnesToWatch, The Fader, Essence, V Magazine and more.
