RELEASES COVER OF PIXIES’ “MR. GRIEVES”
EXTENDS WORLD TOUR WITH 2025 EUROPEAN DATES
Just days before launching the North American leg of their headlining tour, Dehd releases a cover of one of their favorite Pixies tracks, “Mr. Grieves,” on all streaming platforms. The cover reveals how similar the two bands are, skirting the lines between punk and pop with the catchiest hooks of their day and their trademark loudQUIETloud songwriting style which is characterized by softer verses that highlight lyrical quality juxtaposed against loud, anthemic sing-along choruses. The song initially appeared in Hulu’s breakout show The Great starring Elle Fanning.
Dehd’s extensive headline tour starts this Thursday with a sold-out show in Toronto at Lee’s Place and concludes with three sold-out nights at Thalia Hall in their hometown of Chicago. The band recently announced their European leg of the Poetry tour, which will commence in March 2025. Tickets for all shows are available at dehd.horse.
Dehd released their biggest album, Poetry, via Fat Possum Records in May. The album saw singles “Mood Ring” and “Dog Days” take off on radio with well over 15,000 spins and landing on the Top 5 Radio charts at AAA JBE, AAA Mediabase, AAA NonComm, and #16 on Billboard AAA as well as critical acclaim across the board from the likes of Pitchfork, NPR, The New York Times, and more. Poetry encapsulates the band’s artistic voyage by reflecting a journey as vast and nuanced as the American landscape they traversed while crafting it. Dehd opened up about their creative process in a Rolling Stone profile, detailing how a simple writing session transformed into an epic road trip, ultimately shaping the album’s essence. This tireless sense of internal and external adventure has become a trademark of Dehd over the years.
