DEBUT ALBUM THE EVERYDAY DUE SEPTEMBER 27TH
Haich Ber Na announces the release of his forthcoming debut album The Everyday, due September 27th. The announcement arrives alongside a new single and music video for “Hallelujah!” featuring hip-hop duo Paris Texas. The Everyday will include his previously released singles “Sandringham” and “Running Circles,” both of which provide a glimpse into the coming-of-age tale that rests at the center of his full-length project.
Haich Ber Na first met Felix and Louie of Paris Texas in Los Angeles in 2018, back when the collective was still getting its footing. [Felix] was doing impressions of British rappers for about two hours and I thought “Wow I really like this guy” says Ber Na, thinking back on a three-day studio session that resulted in his latest single. Paired with its Pedro Takahashi-directed music video, “Hallelujah!” encapsulates the highs and lows of transitioning from adolescence into adulthood, which is often if not always dictated by radical change.
Speaking on the music video’s inspiration Ber Na shares, “The idea for the video was basically I wanted to just get the rebellious, soldier, chaotic message across in a pretty simple way that felt like the rest of the album aesthetic. Since me and the boys couldn’t organise the video for us all to be in it, I thought let’s use a suburban kid, someone who looks nothing like any of us to perform this. It’s kind of showing the power of music. 1. How far it can travel 2. How you never know the types of people who will enjoy it and 3. How music can be like a drug, making people act a way even in public from its mood and lyrics”.
Keeping in line with the debut album’s title, Ber Na has always seen himself as a champion of the people. His music aims to speak to listeners on both a macro and micro level, saving a special place in his heart for the overlooked dreamers. His music defies easy categorization, as he blends elements of indie, electronica, and pop into the perfect backdrop for his introspective lyricism. Hailing from Peterborough, England, a city with a reputation for being one of the most depressing places to live in the UK, Haich Ber Na is no stranger to worldbuilding, an aspect of his artistry that has helped his music find its way onto FIFA soundtracks and Netflix’s drama series Elite. Fusing his eclectic aesthetic with elements of underground and commercial pop, he invites listeners to explore the complexities of the human experience.
