SUCCUBUS XXXTENDED – which collects five new spins of tracks originally found on COBRAH’s award-winning Big Beat label debut EP, SUCCUBUS – was heralded this month by “LET’S GET FUCKED (TEQUILA Remix),” an intoxicating take on the EP’s “TEQUILA” featuring the legendary Amanda Lepore. The two icons further joined forces for an exclusive feature in Interview as well as COBRAH’s acclaimed Boiler Room set in London.
SUCCUBUS XXXTENDED also includes “TITS, LIPS, HIPS, KISS (10/10 Remix)” from Polish-born, London-based producer VTSS & German ghettotech DJ MCR-T, along with new spins of “TEQUILA” by hyperpop sensation Ayesha Erotica and Croatian underground techno sensation Only Fire and hyper techno artist Zorza’s “FEMININE ENERGY (Zorza Adrenaline Mix).”
The original versions of “TEQUILA,” “10/10,” and “FEMININE ENERGY” are among the many highlights of COBRAH’s acclaimed Big Beat label debut EP, SUCCUBUS. Recently honored at Sweden’s Grammis 2024 with the award for “Årets Elektro/Dans” (Electro-Dance of the Year), the 7-track EP – each of which feature cover art displaying a different form of succubi – also includes such divinely empowered singles as “SUCK” and “MANIC,” both joined by visually powerful official music videos.
COBRAH – who just last week lit up Seattle, WA’s Capitol Hill Block Party with an electrifying co-headline set – is currently set for a number of high profile shows in France, the UK, and Sweden and will return to the US this fall for an eagerly awaited show alongside Ashnikko and Rico Nasty set for October 29 at Morrison, CO’s world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre. ABOUT COBRAH:
Five years ago, Clara, aka COBRAH, squeezed herself into a black latex catsuit for the first time. On top of it she added a corset, cinched tight. Really tight. In this moment, she says, she’d “never been so thrilled about anything. It was like falling in love.”
It wasn’t just about the thrill of skintight fetish wear. It was that in this moment, Clara fully transformed into COBRAH, the experimental electronic artist that’s since become not only her alter-ego, but a globally celebrated vocalist, producer, fashion iconoclast and cultural boundary-pusher whose sleek, playful, often subversive views of sexuality and female power emanate from every note, every purred vocal and every clothing stitch. The multidisciplinary artist grew up in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city, but soon moved to her country’s capitol. It was there COBRAH became immersed in Stockholm’s fetish scene, which inspired and shaped her already ambitious creativity.
2019 saw the arrival of her debut EP, ICON, highlighted by the lead single, “U KNOW ME,” which saw featured placement on EA’s blockbuster FIFA 22, as well as the breakout hit, “IDFKA,” joined by a stunning companion video later honored with a “Music Video of the Year” nomination from the Swedish Grammis.
The self-titled COBRAH EP arrived in 2021, self-released on the artist’s own GAGBALL label. Hailed by NME as “a self-assured slab of sexy, celebratory wonky-pop,” the EP saw COBRAH’s star ascend via bangers like “GOOD PUSS,” which earned more than 25M worldwide streams and a prestigious Grammis nod for “Electro/Dance of the Year.” COBRAH’s discography was further amplified this year, with “BRAND NEW BITCH” earning a feature in the 2024 film Kinds of Kindness, including a placement in the film’s trailer.
Known for her one-of-a-kind live performances, COBRAH introduced fans around the world to SUCCUBUS with a hgely successful international live schedule that included the fully booked SUCCUBUS TOUR, which featured a sold-out show at Queens, NY’s Knockdown Center, as well as dates alongside Brazilian superstar Pabllo Vittar and Charli xcx.
