Fresh off the heels of his latest single “BNB,” rising hip-hop/R&B sensation PARIS. sinks a buzzer beater with the release of his new single “4th Quarter” just in time for the March Madness finals last weekend. Timed perfectly with the conclusion of the NCAA Division 1 Basketball Tournament, “4th Quarter” is a confident new track, highlighting PARIS’s versatility as he trades his smooth, melodic rhymes for hard-hitting, triumphant flows about being the hottest in the game right now.
Setting his sights on taking over the rest of this year, PARIS. assertively places his name amongst basketball greats, singing, “I’m just getting started, scoring different like I’m Harden, or Kobe in the Garden.” He continues by likening himself to current MVP candidate and fellow Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as he celebrates his skill in the booth, “I’m ‘bout to score like I’m SGA, spin from the box, I might fade away, I’m in a big body Escalade.”
Produced by and co-written with Just Ideas (Farruko, Dom Vallie, Lil Berete) and Zypitano (Rod Wave, Future, Lil Uzi Vert), PARIS.’s new single marks his third release of the year following last month’s “BNB” and January’s “Me n Mines” featuring California rapper MBNel. Adding to his prolific output this year, “4th Quarter” is the most poised the Filipino Canadian artist has sounded thus far, hailing himself as the “face of the North” and warning that he’s about to “f*ck up Toronto.”
“4th Quarter” has been co-signed by the Toronto Raptors and SiriusXM, the team’s official audio music streaming partner, as part of their “Disc Switch” campaign. The song was highlighted in the Raptors’ app and across various social media posts made by the team.
About the new release, PARIS. says, “’4th Quarter’ is a song all about hype and hunkering down into that last gear. It starts off with a melodic approach, a very cinematic opening. It’s meant to envision a motivational speech-like vibe. When the beat drops, we get into the thick of the song. It’s all about going hard.”
On being co-signed by the Toronto Raptors and SiriusXM, PARIS. adds, “I’m excited! So grateful that my music gets to be involved in such established places. It gives me even more reason to keep my foot on the pedal and continue pushing.”
PARIS.’s “BNB” was celebrated internationally upon release by critics as “one of the best new songs that dropped this week” by Remixd Magazine, “a straight-up trap beat with dexterous vocal melodies” by HotNewHipHop, and “one to watch” by Biff Bam Pop. It was also selected as RNB Canada’s song of the day. The track was accompanied by a buzzworthy performance video for From the Block, living alongside viral clips featuring Cardi B, Polo G, 4Batz, and more.
After building buzz in 2023 with “Ice Spice” and “IDK” – with the latter being added globally to the Made In Canada playlist on Apple Music and All New Hip-Hop and Fresh Finds Canada playlists on Spotify – PARIS. is confirmed to perform at Sabaidee Fest, California’s Southeast Asian Music and Cultural festival, in June.
