NEW ALBUM EXPECTED IN 2024
WILL PERFORM AT HET CONCERTGEBOUW AMSTERDAM
Adrianne Lenker (Big Thief) presents her new single and video, “Ruined”, and announces tour dates for 2024. “Ruined” is a heartbreaking, remarkable intro to Lenker’s highly anticipated new solo album, which she has announced will be released in 2024. Lenker is a songwriter of a generation, who performs on an unprecedented scale and continues to surprise listeners. On “Ruined,” Lenker takes to the piano for the first time and laments: “Can’t get enough of you // You come around I’m ruined.”
The accompanying video is directed by Adrianne’s brother Noah Lenker and consists of beautiful images of Lenker. It forms an enchanting mosaic in which Lenker immerses himself in riverbeds, warms himself in the afternoon sun and dances along tree-lined paths.
About “Ruined” Lenker says: “This song has been a quiet beacon for me. It may contain the essence of the gift of romantic love but it’s mostly about something much bigger.”
Lenker’s recently announced tour dates include stops in Europe and the United Kingdom, including a show at London’s famed Barbican Center. In the Netherlands, Adrianne Lenker will be seen on May 5 in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Tickets for this show go on sale on Friday, December 8.
