The fast-rising UK pop star is back with an irresistible dance tune
The 5 ft 1 powerhouse vocalist, songwriter and arranger BSHP releases her new single ‘SBGNR’ on 20th October.
Landing somewhere between dance, British pop and R&B, ‘SBGNR’ sees BSHP trying to process the feeling of being portrayed as a drama queen and not being taken seriously just because you cry. “I could’ve cried when you left, My arms / But Sad Bitches Get No Respect”, the songstress sings on a hooky chorus.
Sad Bitches Get No Respect – or for short ‘SBGNR’ – is the perfect uptempo “Bad Bitch Energy” anthem if you are going through a breakup or need some advice from a bigger sister to get you back on your feet.
Her latest single is the hotly anticipated follow-up to ‘Sweet’, BSHP’s debut single released in June this year soon after she signed to Universal Records Germany, as well as a recent collaboration with Dawty on the well-received single ‘Sunny Days’.
Born and raised in Kent, Gabriella Bishop aka BSHP (often spelled “bshp”) is an exciting new voice in British Pop, R&B, and Dance: Since bursting on to the scene with her earliest recordings, she has been on a massive UK tour with Sigala – and recently became the face of Jaguar’s entertainment division. A co-writer and feature guest of Disciple’s triple platinum single ‘Solid Gold’ (2021; 13m+ Spotify), she kickstarted 2023 with ‘Oh Baby’ a top-40 success recorded with Nathan Dawe, Bru C & Issey Cross (#35 UK; 13m Spotify).
Following a series of heartfelt ballads and up-tempo tracks, she recently signed a new deal with Universal Music Germany and after dropping her debut single in June this year, topped off the summer with the track ‘Sunny Days’ in collaboration with Dawty. Apart from that, she also featured on the soundtrack to forthcoming film Sumotherhood (starring Ed Sheeran and Stormzy).
Fun, fierce and full of melody, ‘SBGNR’ is just the latest dance pop gem proving that the sky’s the limit for BSHP.
