“Fresh voices are hard to find, but London newcomer TSHA is as bright and unique as they come…” – Billboard
Rising electronic superstar TSHA returns with sultry new single “Somebody“, her first music since the release of her widely acclaimed debut album ‘Capricorn Sun’.
The track sees TSHA continue to demonstrate the emotive blend of underground electronic and hook-laden pop sensibilities that have led to her being one of the most talked about new artists in recent years. On “Somebody“ she pairs her own formidable production skills with two giant’s in their respective fields; with platinum-selling, bonafide UK pop-royalty Ellie Goulding deploying her flawless vocals and yearning lyrics throughout, and Grammy-winning US soul singer Gregory Porter putting his unmistakable stamp on the chorus.
Speaking about the collaboration TSHA says:
”The idea for this collaboration was sparked by Ellie sliding into my DM’s last year to reach out about a session. I of course jumped at the opportunity in a heartbeat – she’s someone that I’ve admired and respected for a long time, so to have the opportunity to work together was a complete no brainer for me. It’s been an absolute pleasure working together on ‘Somebody’, Ellie’s a real sweetheart and I’m so pleased with how the track has come together. The icing on the cake is the vocals that Gregory Porter has added, which for me really elevate the track and add another dimension to the music. Having a living legend like Gregory featuring on my music is a huge milestone moment for me.“
An in-demand DJ who played over 100 shows last year, TSHA has also recently debuted her first live show, with performances at Primavera and Field Day, and an upcoming performance at Manchester’s Warehouse Project. See below for all of TSHA’s upcoming DJ & live dates across the UK/EU/US, including her support of Chemical Brothers London show at the 20,000 capacity The O2.
Hotly tipped by everyone from Zane Lowe, Diplo, Bonobo and Gorillaz to Billboard, NME, Crack, Mixmag and DJ Mag, TSHA is one of the most exciting talents coming out of the UK. As well as releasing her critically acclaimed and award-winning debut album ‘Capricorn Sun’ on Ninja Tune, in recent times TSHA has also released a compilation for the revered ‘fabric presents’ series; collaborated with the likes of with Diplo, J Balvin, Silk City & HONNE; and played 100+ shows across the globe including supporting Disclosure (at Alexandra Palace & O2 Brixton Academy), Flume (at Red Rocks Amphitheatre), Coachella, Glastonbury and a residency at legendary Ibiza club DC-10. She also graced magazine covers and billboards across the UK and US for the likes of DJ Mag, Spotify and Amazon UK and the album was rightly lauded by both industry and fans, named “Album of the Year” by DJ Mag and BBC R1 Dance, appearing in plenty of End of Year lists including NME, The FADER, Loud & Quiet, Clash, PopMatters & more, with additional support across the record from the likes of Interview Magazine, NME, Billboard, Mixmag, RA, Clash, Vinyl Factory, NYLON, Crack Magazine and many more. She’s now a BBC Radio 1 mainstay with several playlist adds under her belt and heavyweight support from Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Arielle Free, Clara Amfo, Jack Saunders and more, and was also announced as one of 30 artists globally to be added to YouTube’s Foundry Class of 2022 — their flagship artist development program — following in the footsteps of Arlo Parks, Dave, Dua Lipa, Clairo, Japanese Breakfast, Omar Apollo, Rina Sawayama and ROSALÍA.
